Our Story

For over 50 years Leonard and Charles Berman have been involved in the design and sale of office furniture, first through Cole & Company (started by mother, Edith Cole in 1943) and then through Direct Office Furniture Outlet.
 
The family tradition continues with Samuel Levine and sisters’ Jessica Berman and Irene Berman-Levine expanding the Paxton Street showroom through the creation of the Red Door Consignment Gallery.  Specializing in quality furniture and home consignments, the gallery combines the business talents of Sam, the design talents of Jessica and Irene’s interest in antiques and collectibles.
 
So; what would cause an executive mortgage banker with a 32 year career, an equestrian with 25 years of office furniture sales and design history, and a nutritionist with a PhD and passion for antiques to start a furniture consignment business??
